Does negative self-talk affect your skin?

YOUR SKIN CAN HEAR YOU

I know it may sound a little crazy but it’s true: Your skin can hear you! When you look in the mirror, what are you saying to your-self? What are you thinking?

In my skincare practice, I’ve been noticing a lot of people being dissatisfied with their skin lately. When we use phrases like: “My skin looks terrible” or  “I don’t like my wrinkles” or  “my acne is out of control” we are sending a negative message to ourselves that doesn’t make us feel good.

Instead, wouldn’t it be nice to wake up in the morning, take a look in the mirror, greet yourself with a smile and feel confident about your skin?

Rather than focusing on those sun-damage spots or the hormonal acne, you would start noticing the luminosity in your skin and appreciating your beautiful, healthy glow?

what can you do to get your skin radiant and vibrant?

The first step is to implement a daily skincare habit that feels doable and that you stick to. Having an AM and PM skincare routine makes a huge difference in the look and feel of your skin. I know it can be challenging to incorporate a daily skincare regimen into your busy lives; so try to think of it more like a skin ritual - a time set aside for you - something that you look forward to every day, then it will be so much easier and rewarding.

Practice loving kindness for your skin

Remember your skin can hear you. So the second step would be to practice loving kindness for your skin. When you do something nice for your skin you are sending it loving and soul-nourishing thoughts. In return your skin will start to de-stress, clear up and radiate a beautiful glow. You will start to feel so much more confident in your skin.

Like my client earlier this week said;  “you just feel better when your skin is at its best!”

If you are struggling with your skin, I encourage you to try these two steps and see how they work for you. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how practicing a little extra self-care for your skin will have a positive ripple effect in other areas of your life too!

Let me know if you decide to try it and how it's working for you?
