In Denmark with the short days of light, December is all about Hygge.
Hygge is a feeling.
It's about curating a space that feels cozy, safe, warm and gives you permission to just be. This could be with yourself, a friend or your family. Always to be sure to include a candle, something to drink, (this could be your favorite tea or a glass of wine), great lighting, and set the intention for having special time.
This practice is possibly more essential now than it ever has been in. As the Bay Area heads into another shelter in place, during the holidays, it's important to set aside time that is just about creating space for peace, and relaxation.
Hygge, is an ultimate form of self care.
