Did you watch the latest episode of Tea Time with IsaAlex over on Instagram?

If you did, you know that this week I'm talking all about cleansing your skin!

A question I get asked a lot is, "Gunilla, how important is the cleanser I use on my skin?"

The type of cleanser you use is actually very important, since it's the first step in your skincare routine! It's important to use a cleanser that is not too drying for your skin, but will actually cleanse away the dirt and makeup. Your skin should feel slightly taut after cleansing, but not overly dry. An ingredient I always try to avoid is sodium laryl sulfate, as it tends to be drying and irritating to the skin. However, Sodium laureth sulfate is fine!

Another question that is commonly asked is, "how do I make the most of my cleanser?"

Work the cleanser into your skin for about 60 seconds, if you need to, count it out loud just to be sure. The action of massaging the cleanser into the skin stimulates oxygen flow to the tissues and encourages waste products to be flushed through the system.Follow with a soft washcloth to thoroughly remove the cleanser from the skin; any remaining residue could cause clogging of the pores. I recommend investing in a few nice, soft washcloths so that you have a clean washcloth preferably foevery day of the week. I notice a significant improvement in the tone of my client’s skin when they use a washcloth daily. If you do a proper cleansing followed by a replenishing face oil or cream at night, it's not necessary to wash your skin in the morning. Your skin should feel fresh and clean upon waking so all you need to do is a quick rinse; moisturizer, sun block and you are ready to go!

If you have any further questions or anything you want me to feature in a future Tea Time episode- let me know! I love hearing from you and helping you with your skincare concerns!
